A selection of “verses” or segments from Jennifer Crandall’s Emmy nominated film Whitman Alabama will be screened followed by a lecture and discussion with Ben Hudson, Associate Professor of English at Rollins College. The film brings Whitman’s words into our contemporary context. This presentation is a complement to the exhibition Ut Pictura Poesis: Walt Whitman and the Poetry of Art, which celebrates the bicentennial of the acclaimed American poet.
